The Garden House, a 15 minute drive from The Bedford Hotel, is an inspiring day out if you enjoy beautiful country gardens. Stroll around 10 acres of stunning gardens offering year-round interest, and enjoy finding new views at every turn.
You’ll find many rare varieties of plants, and the garden ‘rooms’ take you on a journey through the seasons.Your two night Devon Garden Break includes tickets to the Garden House, full Devon breakfast each morning, and a three course dinner in our award-winning Woburn Restaurant each evening.

The Garden House is normally open 10:30am to 4:30pm, Tuesday to Sunday (plus bank holiday Mondays), 1st April to 31st October. As opening hours and days may occasionally vary, we can check the latest information for you when you call to book. Please book your Devon Garden Break at least 7 days before arrival, in order for us to arrange your Garden House tickets.

The Garden House, located in beautiful Devon countryside a short drive from Tavistock, is one of the south west's most captivating and well-loved gardens. If gardens are your pleasure, you'll enjoy spending a little time in our own beautiful gardens at The Bedford Hotel.
Our pretty front garden offers plenty of seating for a little al fresco refreshment - but for a real treat head for our ancient Walled Garden. This tranquil space is meticulously tended by our own gardener, and is the perfect spot to while away an hour or two on a sunny afternoon - or to enjoy our famous Devon Cream Tea.
